…Terrace. I questioned the boy privately but he stated he knew nothing of the incident. Simultaneously with the visit of the Police Mr J. E Cain (N.S.P.C.C. inspector) called in school to see if Norman Parker and his brother Derek were in regular attendance at School

17 April 1951

Detectives in School a.m. to inform me that they had visited Parker's home the previous evening and that Derek admitted the theft aided & abetted by Norman. Mr Crozier (Building Inspector) in School to measure floor space. County Coun. D. F. Whittle, Chairman of the managers, in School p.m. to visit classrooms & check the registers.

18 April 1951

Mrs Iceton & Miss Jacques (P.T. Organisers) in School p.m. to see P.T. of Stds 1, 2a & 3a. The School Piano Case is damaged and in danger of Collapsing probably due to frequent moving to various classrooms. Staff are informed that it must remain in a fixed position till repaired.
