…By order of the Medical Officer of Health, all pens, pencils, and crayons used in common by the children have been destroyed. The provision of a separate pencil box for each child has also been ordered. Representations to this effect have therefore been made to the Education Committee.

The prevalence of infectious disease, together with the exceptionally stormy weather of the past week, has resulted in a still more unsatisfactory attendance. Forty children have been absent throughout the entire week. Average = 240. Percentage 79%.
