…In view of their excellent work, I have promoted six children from St III to St IV. In 5 cases out of that number, the ages of the children exceed the usual age for St III.

School closed from noon to day to admit of the fixing of new stoves.

Severe storm this morning. Playground flooded; classrooms in a deplorably wet condition. Attendance dropped from 93% to 75%. School closed for Xmas Vacation at noon to-day.

Miss Hope absent through illness. No on books this week = 220. Average 201.5. Percentage 91.5.

Miss Hope resumed duty.

Severe Snowstorm to day has sent the attendance from 204 yesterday to 179 to-day.

School dismissed at 9.30. No fires, owing to non-delivery of coke. Temperature of rooms 27°

Attendance again seriously affected by a severe storm. 56 children present this morning, were absent this afternoon. Attendance this week 86%. Quarter ending today 91.4%
