Miss A.Y. Teggettes trained & took with another member of staff a Choric Speech Team of 25 pupils to Newcastle to compete in the N. of England Tournament. This team was placed third, missing second place by one point. The adjudicator spoke highly of the team & especially complimented Miss Teggettes for her work. She is worthy of very high praise for setting & maintaining a high standard of efficiency in this particular subject.

School is closed all day because the entire staff is attending N.U.T. Refresher Courses in Gosforth. The Caretaker, Mr E. Whinham, reports that Dr. E. T. Everdell visits School p.m. on behalf of the Health Dept. to examine the toilets. This is a sequel to a report received from Mr Holden, Whitley Bay Sanitary Inspector. (See note for 14-5-52).
