9 April 1940

The school was closed to-day for the Grading Examination.

10 April 1940

Two students from Kenton commenced a period of training to continue till 26th April. Miss K. Mowforth. Miss M. Baldwin.

11 April 1940

Dr Pierce attended school & examined the children who were found defective at the last medical inspection. Four children were taken off the special milk list. (John Willis, Joan Shields, Moyra Wood, Sylvia Scott)

12 April 1940

The attendance this week reached 95.2%

26 April 1940

Miss Baldwin & Miss Mowforth finished their period of training.

The school closed for the usual two days holiday at Whitsuntide. The average attendance since Easter has been 93.2%.

13 May 1940

Whit Monday. The school opened according to instructions given on the wireless but only 46 children attended & these were dismissed for the day.
