…The morning meetings are from 9-30 to 12 and the afternoons 2 to 3-30. The work will be mainly Reading, Composition, Spelling, General English, and Arithmetic.

26 September 1939

The above plan was put into operation and will be continued till further notice.

5 October 1939

Mr Crew, H. M. I. visited the school this morning to inquire about the above scheme.

12 October 1939

With the agreement of the Education Com. there will be one group of approximately 8 children in the school every day for instruction.

18 October 1939

About 25 men commenced work to-day on the air-raid shelters.

20 October 1939

Mr Rowe will not attend school after to-day having been sent for by the military authorities

23 October 1939

Miss C. M. Jewitt commenced work as a supply teacher in place of Mr. Rowe.

13 November 1939

The school re-opened on the double shift plan, the air-raid shelters being not quite completed but in such a state as to afford protection from splinters etc. St. IIa & II b are attending in the mornings this week
