A letter from the Director of Education was received this morning, saying that groups of children should be taught in private houses, till the schools could be opened, and inviting head-teachers to send in suggested schemes by the 25th Sep.
The following arrangements were made:
Each class is divided up into 5 groups (a.b.c.d.e.) by the class teacher.
A group consists of approximately 8 children, living as near together as can be arranged, and will meet at the home of one of them or at some other house in the immediate neighbourhood.
Very few children will be more than five minutes walk from home.
The groups of each class meet as follows:-
Monday a c This gives each child
Tuesday b d instruction for a morning
Wednesday c e and an afternoon in the
Thursday d a week, and homework can be
Friday e b. done between meetings.
