11 January 1937

Mr. W. Burnham is absent to-day being ill (influenza cold). National Savings = 12/6. Attendance Officer reported. Class V was taken by the Head-master. Physical Training and Science were not taken in Classes IVa and V.

13 January 1937

A Medical Certificate re Mr. Burnham who is still absent has been sent to the School Correspondent along with Form 108.

15 January 1937

All children received a free ticket for a performance on Sat. morning in the Coliseum; in addition each child received fruit, sweets and one penny. Weekly attendances = 94.6%. Mr. Burnham is still absent. The final stock for the year 1936-7 has arrived and will be checked on Monday next. Mr. Liddle of County Hall called at 4. 10 p.m. and added for all the REGISTERS :- Attendance Officer present.

18 January 1937

Mr. Burnham returned to duty this morning (MONDAY). The attendance officer called this morning for a new list.

22 January 1937

Owing to severe colds the weekly percentage for attendance has fallen to 87.5. METER READINGS = 5,138,000 Water. National Savings = 8/- Electric... Downstairs 12446 Upstairs 1110 Gas - 1,019,000.

25 January 1937

Mr. Burnham is again absent from duty owing to influenza. The Head-master is taking Class V but no drill or science will be taken. Term Examinations in Reading,
