The school correspondent called at 9am. with a circular dealing with the Proclamation of the New King, and he also signed the H.M.I's Report (See p. 234).

24 January 1936

METER READINGS by caretaker are WATER ... 4,458,000 gals. GAS ... 892,000 cu ELECTRIC ... 502 upstairs 542 downstairs. Weekly % of attendance has fallen to 87.5.

A special Ceremony of REMEMBRANCE of KING GEORGE V took place in the school from 9am until 9.50am after which the children were dismissed.

Attendance Officer reported re absentees this afternoon. During the week any special talk of National Interest within the intelligence of the children was heard in the various class-rooms, and this necessitated a slight alteration of the Time. Table. Lessons now and again.
