Alexander Nicholson & Robert St Lyall, together with the Girls Elizabeth Hill & Doris Carter, appeared before the Examination Board on the 19th.
Robert Lyall & Elizabeth Hill were successful.

1 April 1914

Reorganisation of School to-day instead of the 1st May. 93 boys were admitted from the Infant School & 12 from Monkseaton Village School.
66 Names have been sent in of candidates for Co. Co. Scholarships. The Examination takes place on May 3rd.
8 boys have entered for the Naval Scholarship Examination.
