October 25th

The second quarter of the school year terminated to-day. During the quarter, the average nº of children on the books has been 319, the average nº present at all 295, the average attendance 283, and the percentage 88.7.

Oct 28th

A boy, Stephen Isherwood, (St 4) present this morning, absent this afternoon. During the afternoon, the boy's father called to say that the boy had contracted scarlet fever. Later, the Medical Officer of Health (Dr Sparks) called, and said from information received, that the boy had reached the peeling stage of the disease. The teacher of St 4. strongly denies that there were any visible symptoms when the boy was present during the morning. The class room was disinfected by the Sanitary Inspector at night

Nov 1st

An attendance of 294 on Monday morning of this week has diminished to 268 this (Friday) afternoon, owing to a rapid spread of measles.
