Today four students from Kenton Lodge Training College began their final school practice. They will be here for two & a half weeks.

The doctor spent this morning at school examining special children. He will be here tomorrow also. Miss Wilson, physical training organiser, visited us today & saw work in all classes.

School closed on Friday, May 10th, for Whitsuntide. Owing to a war emergency the holiday was curtailed by one day, school opening today, Tuesday, instead of tomorrow.

School closed today for the Midsummer holiday.

School re-opened today. Fifty children have been transferred to the Junior School. Owing to a fall in numbers there are now four classes instead of five. Therefore Miss Blackburn has accepted a transfer to Monkseaton Village School.

Owing to a long & heavy air raid during last night the attendance this morning fell below 50% & was therefore cancelled in accordance with Paragraph 15(a).
