Miss Detchon resumes her duties today.

30 November 1951

Mr Glass, Headmaster of Whitley North Junior in School today to go over Grading Exam. arrangements.

3 December 1951

I receive an emergency call from the Office to superintend the Grading Examination at New Hartley C.P. Junior School tomorrow.

4 December 1951

Grading Exam. Day. School closed except for candidates who attend morning session only. Supervisor: Mr Glass Staff: 5 from this School, 6 from South Infants + 13 from Grammar School. 62 children (30 Boys, 31 Girls plus 1 boy from a Private School) to take Exam. I attend New Hartley C.P. Junior School.

7 December 1951

Dr. Pierce in School following my report to the Health Dept regarding excessive cases of mumps + Scarlet Fever, colds, sore throats etc in Std 1b.2b (Miss Detchon's Class). Advice to me was to send home anyone who appeared to be likely to take mumps etc.

10 December 1951

Notified from the Council Office that Brenda Johnson of 35 Fish Avenue should be excluded from School as she is a Scarlet Fever contact.

14 December 1951

Epidemic of Mumps colds etc in Std. 1b.2b.
