…North Modern in charge.

7 December 1949

Mr Dobson (County Inspector) calls a.m. to see Mr N. Brammer. Mr Baglee in School p.m. Interviewed Mrs Lorimer and then Mr Lorimer (Caretaker) on following: (1) Coal tickets to be signed on back in ink (2) To get proper permission before having house (i.e. caretakers cottage) repairs done. (3) To be available all day (particularly in afternoons) to Heads of both Depts. Mrs Lorimer admitted going to bed each afternoon his excuse being he rose early to light boiler fire & in any case Mrs Lorimer was available.

8 December 1949

Mobile Film Unit (C.O.I.) visits School p.m. Films shown were "The North Sea" (31 mins) and "Rock Pools" (10 mins). These films were highly instructive.

13 December 1949

I sent for Mr Lorimer (Caretaker) at 8.45 a.m. & complained that 4a + 3a rooms had not been cleaned. He admitted they had not been cleaned his reason being he forgot. Complaint was also made about a large scale model in Std 1 having been carelessly knocked over and left lying on
