Dr. Piercy, School M.O called to inquire about the diphtheria case and examined the throats of 10 children (possible contacts)

The school closed to-day for the Christmas Holiday. Per centage attendance for week 92.1. Meter readings. { Water 7,253000 Electric 3104 upstairs. 2638 downstairs. Gas. 2638. A new gas meter has been installed, the old one having developed a leak.

8 January 1940

The school re-opened to-day with 287 children present.

9 January 1940

Miss Leggetter absent with managers' permission to attend her brother's wedding.

11 January 1940

Miss Jewitt is absent to-day owing to measles.

15 January 1940

Mrs. Unite commenced supply duty in place of Miss Jewitt. 270 children present.
