…examine those children who were previously unsatisfactory & found all but one much improved

19 July 1935

The attendance for the week is 95.5 %. St V had only one child absent one half day. Lists of senior scholars to attend Monkseaton and Whitley North Council Schools have been sent to the Headmasters concerned.

26 July 1935

National Savings on Monday = 7/6. On Wednesday Mr Leach returned to duty after an absence since May 13th. On Thursday no milk was supplied to the school. Weekly attendance = 93.9%. Today summer vacation begins at 4.30 pm. School re-assembles August 26th. 8.55 am. [margin: Holiday 4 wks]

30 August 1935

School re-opened on Monday with 388 on books. Weekly attendance = 93.1%.

2 September 1935

This morning, Mary Shippen and Kathleen Gardner from the Northern Counties Training College of Cookery and Domestic Science . NEWCASTLE . began one week's observation and practice. National Savings = 5/-

6 September 1935

Attendance for week = 94.7%. A REPORT re above two students has been sent direct to Principal of above college.

13 September 1935

National Savings on Monday totalled 9/-. 57 Medical Cards have been sent to North Senior Council School, and 26 to Monkseaton S.S.
