School opened on Monday 28th. ult. with an excellent attendance and a full staff. War savings on Monday only totalled 4/6. The School Attendance Officer has called twice during the week. The school walls and ceilings have been painted during the holiday month; but no woodwork was touched and no repairs were done.

On Monday - 4th. inst - Miss E. Anderson commenced a week's practice in teaching and observation from the Northern Counties Training College of Cookery and Domestic Science. War. Savings totalled 7/-. Miss Anderson was absent on Thursday morning. Weekly attendance = 93·5 %.

War Savings totalled 11/-. Seven children were admitted during the week and two left. Attendance Officer reported on Wed. 13th. inst. On Friday (today) the afternoon session began at 1·45 p.m. and the children were dismissed at 4. 5 p.m. to enable them to see Shackleton's Picture - "Endurance" - at the Picture House. Weekly Attendance = 93·8%.
