-books are tidy except in the bottom class. There the children have been careless in their written work, and they are also untidy in their behaviour in class. They loll in their seats, and are apt to interrupt with remarks that are not pertinent to the matter of the oral lesson. Though these children are in Std. III. they are only in the first year of their life in this Department, and it is all the more important therefore that they should be taught to apply themselves diligently.
