School closed today for the Christmas Holiday. I accompanied our evacuee children to the party given by Whitley U.D.C. at 3 o'clock and left them in charge of W.V.S. This morning Miss Jacques saw games & dancing of all infant classes.

8 January 1945

School re-opened today. Mrs Matilda Lamb is still here as supply as there are still 35 evacuee children in the school.

19 January 1945

A cowl was blown off the staff room chimney during the blizzard which raged during the night. This was reported to the office, also the fact that the chimney stack above the main entrance seemed to be in need of pointing. The attendance this afternoon dropped to 54.1% because of the blizzard when the children left school at 12 p.m.
