During the last term of the last school year it was found necessary to form an extra class - St. I b - consisting chiefly of backward children whose ages were about 7½ or 8 years. These children are now part of St. II b, along with younger, quicker children. St. II b. and St. I are consequently very mixed. Careful grading of work is necessary to ensure good progress. It is expected that when the numbers increase, a separate small class of children will form St. II b and promotion will then take place in the lower classes. LB.
