Visited by H.M.I. Mr Brockbank. Mr Brockbank suggests :- 1) The two top classes be divided into two sections during the Arithmetic Lesson. The brighter children to work sums (written work) whilst those children weak at adding & subtracting have more oral practice in Mental Arithmetic. 2) Similarly. The two top classes (St I, and Preparatory St I) and also the Highest Infant Class be divided into two sections for Reading. The brighter children could read silently from assorted books, and the teacher would thus be free to devote more time to the oral reading of the weak ones.
