The Head Teacher has returned to school after four days absence occasioned by family bereavement . EB

Miss M. Hopper C. (babies' teacher) is absent. The doctor certifies that she is suffering from acute rheumatism , EB and will be unable to return to school for at least a fortnight

Visited by Miss Howman Instructress in Needlework and Domestic Subjects under the North'd County Council . EB

The Staff is deplorably short owing to the absence of Miss Hopper , and the Head Teacher's Class of 4 & 5 Infant children is divided between the two Junior Teachers, to enable the Head Teacher to take the class of about 60 babies, EB and "sixes". Application has been made for temporary help.
